KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Two foreign nationals have been arrested on charges of smuggling gold at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The gold was discovered in six packets concealed in a pocket inside the jackets worn by the arrested individuals. They were apprehended by airport police while attempting to exit after passing through the customs office of the airport.

Chandra Ghale, who arrived in Kathmandu from FlyDubai flight FZ 573, was arrested on Thursday night at 11:40. He was found with 14 kg of gold shaped like a biscuit, wrapped in cloth and hidden on the right side of his chest.
