Figo is the first small car made by Ford which was launched in India in March, 2010. About 29,000 units of the car were sold out in India in the last four months itself. The smart hatchback, which is originally American, is made in India. The car will be available in both petrol 1.2 liter engine (three models) and diesel 1.4 liter engine. [break]
The heart stealing car received the best diesel small car award of the year given by Zigwheels ahead of Volkswagen Polo. The car will compete with other hatchbacks in the town like Hyundai´s i10 and i20, Skoda Fabia, Kia Picanto, Maruti Suzuki´s Swift and Ritz and more in terms of price.
The Ford EXI has exclusive features like body colored bumpers, full wheel covers, air conditioner, power steering, electric boot open, remote fuel filter opening, anti-drip wiping, rear coat hooks, removable parcel tray, MP3 player with four speakers, digital odometer and trip meter, distance to empty, headlamp on reminder, dual tone horn, laminated glazed windscreen, intelligent central locking, remote key and engine immobilizer.
Similarly, the ZXI model has all the aforementioned features along with body colored outside mirrors and door handles, driver seat head adjust, electrically adjustable mirrors, cargo area lamp, Bluetooth phone interface, tachometer, rear wipe and rear defogger.
The Titanium model has all the features of the ZXI model along with additional features like, six-speed variant intermittent front wipers, anti-lock braking system and dual front airbags.
“We are planning to sell at least 600 units of Figo within a year,” Sunil Chhetri, manager of GO Automobiles, told myrepublica.com.
The stylish hatchback has iPod and Bluetooth connectivity and all the tires of the car are tubeless. Ford India claims that the car has the best in class air conditioner, boot space and handling.
Figo is available in seven different colors -- Diamond White, Moondust Silver, Chill, Panther Black, Sea Grey, Sqeeze and Colorado Red.
GO Automobiles is also renovating and making a huge investment in its showroom at Thapathali and service center at Swayambhu to welcome Figo by maintaining its standard.
“In the coming days, we are planning to introduce a new model of car from Ford stable every year, including the lowest model of Figo, the LXI model,” Chhetri added.
