The match played on Wednesday between Birgunj and Boys Sports had ended in a 1-1 tie. But ANFA´s disciplinary committee has decided to give 2-0 victory result in favor of Birgunj after it was proved that Boys Sports had fielded Ajit Rai who featured from New Diamond Club during the district league. According to a release issued by ANFA, Rai will now be ineligible to play in any official tournament hosted by ANFA across the nation.
Earlier, Birgunj had protested after the match claiming that Boys Sports fielded Rai who featured from another club during the district league.
Though ANFA took prompt decision regarding fielding of the ineligible player during B division league but it has not disclosed the report of investigation committee formed to probe match fixing allegation in the A division league concluded on July.
Meanwhile Mahabir Club was handed fourth defeat in a row on Thursday in the B division league being held at the Police Academy, Maharajgunj. Mahabir was defeated 3-1 by Samajik Yuva Club.
Following the defeat, Mahabir also became the only team among 15 teams to lose all four matches played so far as Samajik registered its first victory. Mahabir has scored two goals in four matches and conceded six. The win lifted Samajik with five points to ninth place.
Prabin Syangtam netted twice for Samahik and bikram Dhimal added another. Tarjan Thapa scored the consolation for Mahabir.
Boys Union which got relegated to second division in last season also achieved its second victory with 2-0 victory over Star Club. Rabin Pun and Nisan Limbu scored apiece.
Following the result, Boys Union moved to fourth with eight points playing five matches.
Madhyapur Youth Association leads the table with 10 points while Kathmandu Club and Chyasal Club with nine points each are in the second and third places respectively. Star is in seventh place with six points.
