Fonepay launches mobile-based financial servies

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Fonepay, a subsidiary of software developer F1 International, has unveiled ´mobile wallet´, a service that allows customers to deposit and withdraw money, and make payment, with the help of mobile phones.



Biswas Dhakal, president of the company, said the service also has a feature that facilitates customers to make interbank fund transfers and acquire remittance service.



Currently, the service is available through Machhapuchhre Bank, Sunrise Bank and Nabil Bank. “We are making the service available through 27 other banks in the next three months,” he said.



In order to avail the service, customers have to register their mobile number in Fonepay. “Once the registration is done, customers can transfer the money or make payments through SMS,” he said. Customers can also pay utility bills and purchase tickets with the help of this service.
