KATHMANDU, Feb 6: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has condemned what it called 'baseless and prejudiced statements' made by chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane against the Nepali media.
Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the FNJ said that Lamichhane’s hostile expressions through baseless and prejudiced statements were a serious attack on the freedom of expression.

Making expressions against the media by losing temper from an individual who served as the country’s deputy prime minister and minister for home affairs was an attack on the entire media sector, the FNJ said in its statement, while calling for the concerned side to respect the constitutional right of the press.
Likewise, Nepal Press Union has also condemned the "baseless statements" of Lamichhane stating that his remarks were aimed at defaming media houses, media persons and the journalism sector at large.
