FNCCI urges its members to prioritize Nepali products

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged all district and municipal chambers of commerce and its members to implement the government's decision mandating the use of domestic products in public institutions.

KATHMANDU, January 20: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged all district and municipal chambers of commerce and its members to implement the government's decision mandating the use of domestic products in public institutions.


FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal welcomed the government’s approval of the ‘guidelines for using domestic products in public entities-2024’, calling it a commendable initiative.

The government exercised its authority under Section 68 of the Industrial Enterprise Act, 2020, to issue the directive which seeks to maximize the use of locally available resources, boost domestic production, create jobs, manage imports, and promote the market for domestic goods. It also aims to ensure the effective use of domestic products in public institutions.


Emphasizing the importance of this decision in promoting domestic production, FNCCI encouraged all its members to prioritize and promote Nepali products wherever possible.
