KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the apex private sectors’ body of the country, has plunged into leadership disputes after dissident businessmen charged that the present leadership failed to raise major concerns of private sector. [break]

The dissidents are all set to submit a written statement to the president of FNCCI president Kush Kumar Joshi urging him to call a meeting of Executive Committee to discuss the contemporary issues raised by the businesspersons.

Businessmen, who are opposing the present FNCCI have charged that Joshi-led body has failed to provide competent leadership, resolve recent workers’ disputes and has appointed persons to the Executive Committee who were defeated in the last election.

Former president Chandi Prasad Dhakal said that present leadership has been unsuccessful to address long-running issues of private sector and added, “More worrisome is that present leadership has acted to dilute the image of FNCCI.”
