KATHMANDU, April 11: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is holding election for the new executive committee in Kathmandu on Monday.
Voting will begin at the Nepal Academy premises in Kamaladi from at 8 am on Sunday, according to the election committee.
Chandra Dhakal elected Senior Vice President of FNCCI
The 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the federation will elect a senior vice president, three vice presidents and 59 executive members. A total of 634 associate members, 99 commodity members, 104 district-municipal members and 12 bi-national chambers of commerce and industry will cast their votes.
Incumbent Senior Vice President Bhawani Rana will be automatically elevated to the post of president in the new executive committee. She will be the first woman president of the federation which was established in 1965.
Shekhar Golchha and Kishor Pradhan are in fray for the post of senior vice-president. Golchha and Pradhan are leading their separate panels in the election.
According to FNCCI officials, the result of the election is expected to be announced come on Tuesday itself.
The new executive committee will also select a treasurer amongst them as per the new provision in the statute.
