CHITWAN, Aug. 14: Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey has said the country would face a serious crisis if a powerful government was not formed and urged the both prime ministerial candidates to withdraw their candidacies to give a way out to the political deadlock.

At a press meet in Chiwan Saturday morning, Pandey claimed that people will not forgive the leaders of political parties if parties preferred majority government. [break]

He said the CPN (UML) will not cast vote to any of the prime minister´s candidate and added UML was in favour of national consensus.

He blamed the Unified CPN (Maoist) and the Nepali Congress for pushing the country towards a crisis due to their exercise for a majority government.

He said leading the government by the major political parties was one of the alternatives to end the ongoing political impasse, suggested Pandey.
