In an interaction program organized by the Ministry of Finance, Dr Bhattarai told chief executive officers of twenty commercial banks present at the program that they need to lessen their exposures on unproductive sectors.
According to Radesh Pant, president of Nepal Bankers´ Association, the bankers on the occasion complained with the finance minister that rising security, deepening power crisis and growing unhealthy competition among the financial institutions due to their excess numbers are the major constrains to expand banking services to rural areas.
