As part of their second phase of protests, they will padlock government offices in all flood-affected villages from December 10-15.
Apart form piling pressure on the government to arrange land for them, the Flood Victims´ Struggle Committee has also demanded waiver in their agriculture loans and arrangement of employments.
On August 18 in 2008, the Saptkoshi River had flooded four villages -- Haripur, Sripur, Paschim Kushwaha and Laukahi -- after breaching its eastern embankment. Over 7,000 families were displaced by the flood.
Meanwhile, villagers of Barahchhetra, Prakashpur and Mahendranagar, who had been displaced by the flood, have also continued with their fourth round of agitation.
The Koshi flood has displaced about 4,000 families of three villages since 1965. It has eroded more than 8,000 bighas of fertile land, too.
