Regular flights have resumed after improvement in visibility
KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Several domestic and international flights to and from Tribhuvan International Airport were affected due to heavy fog in major cities including the capital city Kathmandu since Thursday morning. The regular flights resumed only after the improvement of visibility at around 11 am.

According to Sudarshan Bertaula, the spokesperson of Yeti Airlines, regular flights were affected in Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Janakpur, Pokhara, Simra, Nepalganj and other cities due to heavy fog since morning. “The flights will be delayed and canceled due to the impact of the poor visibility as a result of thick fog ,” spokesperson Bertaula said.
A few international flights are also experiencing difficulty in landing at Tribhuvan International Airport due to poor visibility in Kathmandu since this morning. A Nepal Airlines plane arriving from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Kathmandu was asked to turn back after failing to land at the TIA. A few aircrafts due to land at TIA were asked to put on hold in the air for sometime.
Earlier in the morning, an aircraft belonging to Air India coming from New Delhi to Kathmandu was forced to returned to New Delhi.
