MYAGDI, Aug 29: Flights on the Jomsom-Pokhara route resumed today following a two-month halt.
The air service connecting Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki Province, and Jomsom, a tourist destination in Mustang district, had remained closed since July 1, owing to adverse weather conditions.

According to Keshav Lamsal, the chief of Jomsom Airport, Summit Airlines operated five flights on the route today. “The weather has now improved," he said.
He said the service was resumed given the commencement of the tourist season. Lamsal added that Tara Air, a sister company of the private sector airline Yeti Airlines, is preparing to operate flights on the route from September 3.
Ninety people landed in Mustang today on five flights, according to Lamsal.
It has been a relief for would-be passengers including pilgrims at a time when the Benighat-Jomsom road section in Myagdi has been affected by landslides.
Prior to this, due to the lack of road access and air service to Mustang, people were forced to travel by helicopters which made the journey costlier.
