Five people including four Indian nationals arrested with 234 kg of marijuana

BIRATNAGAR, March 29: Police have arrested five people with 234 kg of marijuana  from Rangeli in Morang. Four of those arrested are Indian nationals, according to police.


On Tuesday, police arrested two Indian nationals with 150 kg of marijuana from a wheat field in Rangeli municipality-2. During the security check, Deepak Jha, 29, and Sintukadh Kumar Singh,30, of Araria in India were arrested with 150 kg of marijuana, said DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal.

As the arrested said that they bought the marijuana from the house of a  local Bir Bahadur Kark in Rangeli Municipality-3 police then went to his house for search. During the search operation, police found an additional 84 kg of marijuana.


Police further arrested Indian nationals Prabin Paswan and Vishnukant Mishra for transporting marijuana along with corks. Police said that five people were arrested with 234 kg of marijuana from two places.


The District Police Office, Morang, has extended seven days remand for investigation against all five people in the case of drug offenses.
