Five of family HIV-infected

JHAPA, Oct 17: Five members of the same family of Bahundangi, Jhapa, have been infected with HIV-AIDS, said a non-governmental organization.



According to the National HIV and AIDS Federation, Jhapa, this was found in husband, wife, sister, son and daughter in the family.



They have been undergoing treatment in Biratnagar for the past three weeks. They were sent for treatment with the cooperation of the Federation and the Night Chess Club, Kakarbhitta, said Club Chairman Balajit Rai.



Their blood was tested in an ICC programme organized by the Club six months ago, said Rai.



Blood of everyone was seen infected after husband who returned from New Delhi, India from his job, was suspected, he said.



They cannot be made public for social sensitivity, the club source said.
