KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Ministry for Information and Communication Shankar Pokharel Wednesday affixed the first cancellation mark on five postage stamps of three dignitaries and two heritage sites.

Three postage stamps have been issued in memory of late politician Jibraj Ashrit, musician Natikaji Shrestha and litterateur Bhairav Aryal. The two new heritage sites who have been figured in new postage stamps are Kankalini Mai of Saptari and Maru Ganesh of Kathmandu.

Artiest Mohan Narsingh Rana is the designer of these postage stamps.

On the occasion, Pokharel honoured philatelist Rishi Kumar Tulsiyani, who bagged gold medal during the 26th Asian International Postage Stamp Exhibition recently held in South Africa.
