Five killed in Tulsipur shoe shop fire

DANG, Feb 11: Five people have died in a fire in Tulsipur, Dang district. They died in a fire at a shoe store in Tulsipur. Five people who were unconscious after a fire broke out in Iram Footwear shoe and slipper shop last night were taken out in the morning.

The fire started at around 2:45 PM and this could not be brought under control till morning. This made it difficult to rescue the victims. They were found unconscious in the morning and were taken to Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tulsipur.

The deceased have been identified as Adid Bin Ali aged around 6 years, Sajit Khatun aged around 14 years, Hasan Bakash aged around 14, Masin Bakash aged around 16 years and Nazarvin Ali aged around 42 years, according to DSP Shyamu Aryal. 

All of them died while undergoing treatment, said DSP Shyamu Aryal of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur. He said details were not known for now.

The fire brigade of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, fire brigade of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army personnel and locals had tried to put out the fire overnight. Aryal said that the fire may have started due to electric short circuit.
