Five killed in road accidents

KATHMANDU, July 5: Five people were killed and nine others injured in separate road accidents, police said.

Two were killed in Kathmandu, two in Palpa and one in Banke.


Anita Gupta, 24, was killed when a bus, Na 5 Kha 1802, collided with a parked truck at Mahadevpuri-7, Omari of Banke district. Seriously injured Gupta died while receiving treatment at a medical college in Kohalpur.

In Kathmandu, 30-year-old Sujan Dhama of KMC-16, Sanobharyang was killed when a motorcycle, Ba 26 Pa 4737, hit buffalos at Kalanki this morning. Similarly, a woman whose identification is yet to be established, died as she was hit by a tipper at KMC-13 on Sunday night.

Likewise, two people including driver Bikram Tamang, 29, were killed when a tipper, Ga 1 Kha 7535, skidded off the road and fell some 500 meters down in Palpa district.
