Five drug peddlers arrested in Dharan

 DHARAN, July 9: Police have arrested five youths for their involvement in drug peddling in the last two days in Dharan.

Bir Bahadhur Bhujel was arrested from Dharan-11, Mangalbare after police found illegal drug and timber during checking in his house. According to Area Police Office, Dharan, 22 cubic feet of wooden logs has been seized from Bhujel’s house.

Likewise, police found drugs concealed in a dalda ghee container buried under the earth, DSP Dhakendra Prasad Khatiwada told Republica Online.

According to Khatiwada, Rs 48,500 cash, 69 ampoules of Diazepam and Avil each have been seized. Bhujel had been released after serving a two-year-jail term on the charge of drugs peddling. Police have been investigating on him following the extension of his remand. 

Likewise, acting on a tip-off, police have arrested three persons with drugs. Arrested are Santosh Mandal, 30, of Biratnagar-6, Kamal Sahani, 24, and Santosh Tamang, 30, of Dharan-3. Police have started investigation on them after taking illegal drugs and a motorcycle under control, according to DSP Khatiwada. Similarly, Police also have arrested 17-year-old Suren Giri with drugs from Dharan-8.
