KATHMANDU, April 9: The five shortlisted candidates for the chairmanship of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) will present their action plans on April 11.
The coordination committee, chaired by Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha, Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, has decided to request the shortlisted candidates to present their action plans by Tuesday afternoon.

Sources indicate that the committee is preparing to recommend three names and forward them to the Cabinet on the same day. From the three individuals recommended by the committee, one will be appointed as the chairman of SEBON by the Cabinet. Normally, the Cabinet meets on Thursdays.
The committee shortlisted five names out of 19 applicants on Sunday. The contestants include Krishna Bahadur Karki, chief executive officer of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE); Chiranjivi Chapagain, former chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority; Nabaraj Adhikari, executive director of SEBON; Mukti Shrestha; and Santosh Narayan Shrestha.
The committee, chaired by Finance Secretary Dr Krishna Hari Pushkar with Professor Uday Niraula as a member, issued a call for applications on February 28. Following the end of Ramesh Kumar Hamal's tenure, SEBON has been without a chairperson.
