KATHMANDU, Mar 3: The first formal dialogue between the underground outfit, Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), and the government ended on Wednesday with an agreement to meet again soon.
According to Rajan Bhattarai, foreign affairs advisor to the prime minister and member of the government talks team, the meeting ended on a positive note. The dialogue was held at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
Formal doesn’t have to be boring
While the government team is headed by Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, the talks team of the Chand-led CPN is led by Khadga Bahadur BK.
Both the government and the Chand-led CPN formed teams for dialogue on Tuesday.
The two sides are scheduled to hold similar meeting in the days to come.
