Fire under control at Santungal-based LG factory after 5 hrs

KATHMANDU, Oct 14
: A fire broke out in Satungal-based two storey factory of LG Company on Sunday evening causing a huge loss of property.



According to Shekhar Khanal, a Deputy Superintendent of Police with the Metropolitan Police, Kalimati, a large number of TV sets, refrigerators, mobile phones, DVD players and other electronic items were destroyed in the fire. [break]



It took almost five hours to bring the blaze under control. DSP Khanal said, "About seven fire brigades were used to douse the fire. We were able to save only 20 to 25 % of the property."



Some 450 personnel of APF and Nepal Army were deployed in the rescue effort. The actual cause of fire and damages to the property are yet to be estimated, police said.
