Finance minister Koirala off to New Delhi

KATHMANDU, May 2: Minister for Finance Shanker Prasad Koirala has left for New Delhi of India today to attend the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) by leading a Nepali delegation.



The meeting is expected to discuss ADB´s annual programmes, bank´s assistance strategies and effectiveness of resources mobilization, among others. [break]



According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Minister Koirala would urge the ministers and representatives from other member countries of the ADB to extend supports in Nepal´s socio-economic development.



Secretary at the MoF Shanta Raj Subedi and other top-level officials of the Ministry are also attending the meeting.



The meeting would conclude on May 5.



Earlier, the annual meeting of the ADB was held in Manila of the Philippines.
