KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The final rites of veteran republican leader Ramraja Prasad Singh was performed with state honors at Aryaghat on Wednesday. He was 77.
The veteran leader died in the course of treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in the capital today morning. [break]

Meanwhile, Nepal Army personnel offered a 13-gun cannon salute when the final rites were being performed at Aryaghat.
His body was kept at Khulla Manch from 12 pm to 3 pm today for people to pay their last homage.
Singh was undergoing treatment at TUTH since September 2. He had been admitted to the Maharajgunj-based hospital following multiple complaints including difficulty to move his legs, back bone pain, gradual loss of memory power, high blood pressure, and kidney problem.
"He passed away at around 6 this morning due to multiple organs failure," Said, KP Singh, a doctor at the TUTH.
He was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and kept on ventilator on Tuesday evening as his health condition further deteriorated.
The government on Monday had decided to bear all the expenses incurred during the treatment of leader Singh.
An emergency meeting of the cabinet had decided to provide state honors to late leader Singh, as he was a leading revolutionary leader in Nepal’s republican movement.
National flag to fly at half-mast tomorrow

The Government on Wednesday decided to flow the national flag at half-mast in all government offices in the country and Nepali embassies and missions abroad on September 13 in order to mourn the demise of republican leader Ramraja Prasad Singh, said the Ministry of Home Affairs.
