KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Surya Man Thapa (Dong), the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Kavre Constituency 1, has instructed the Dhulikhel branch manager of the Agricultural Inputs Company Limited to distribute fertilizers to the farmers immediately without keeping stock in the warehouses.

MP Dong directed Agricultural Inputs Company Limited’s Dhulikhel Branch Manager Basudev Sharma to distribute fertilizers easily to the farmers saying that there were widespread complaints of farmers not getting chemical fertilizers at the time of planting. "I heard complaints that the leaders could not give fertilizers during the election campaign, even now farmers are calling me saying that they should manage the fertilizer," he said. Dong added, "Don't keep fertilizer stocks in the warehouse. Distribute the fertilizers to the farmers immediately such that they get the fertilizers easily."

Branch Manager Sharma complained that the farmers did not get fertilizers due to the lack of timely attention from the government. He said that the stock of fertilizers in the go-down will be distributed according to the quota of the local level. On the other hand, Dong suggested that fertilizers should be distributed based on the needs of the farmers rather than on the basis of quota.
