People’s participation in the process has witnessed significant increase as the government declared public holiday for three days -Sunday, Monday and Tuesday- to facilitate this purpose.
Lawmakers are to gather people’s feedback on Monday and Tuesday.
Incidents of clashes have also been reported in few Tarai districts after cadres of Madhesh-based parties obstructed the process.
Dahal greeted with black flags
Cadres of some Madhesh-based parties and Matrika Yadav-led CPN-Maoist showed black flags to UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Siraha-5. The Maoist Chairman had reached there to collect feedback on the draft of the statute. He was greeted with black flags as soon as he reached Mohan High School, Mirchaiya. Police used force to scatter demonstrators.
16 cops injured in Rautahat
About 16 police personnel including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were injured in clash with protesters in Rautahat district. Likewise, cadres of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (NSP) had attempted to manhandle CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
