UDAYAPUR, Nov 1: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala blamed the 'idiocy' of the government to implement federalism in the country. "Despite the government's two-thirds majority, it hasn't been able to implement federalism because of its idiocy," Koirala said in a press meet at the Nepal Press Union's office.
He argued that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli led government was failing every single day and acting against the spirit of federalism. Koirala vented his ire against the government and questioned what had obstructed implementation of federalism in the country, despite two third majority.

He also accused his own party leaders of creating factions within the party which eventually led to Nepali Congress's historical defeat in the three tiers of elections last year. He added that the party's leadership had to change its tune and a change in leadership if Nepali Congress was to rise again.
To save Nepali Congress, a general assembly must be held within Falgun, 2076 BS, he said adding that he'd contest in the elections for party's chairmanship.
