KATHMANDU, April 19: The Federal Alliance on Tuesday failed to decide on a new protest plan.

The alliance held a meeting at the Tinkune-based office of Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal to chalk out new protest programs, but failed to decide following differing views from leaders.

Leaders said now they sit again on Wednesday.

“During today’s meeting, leaders aired their suggestions for agitation,” senior leader of Tarai Madhes Sadhbhawana Party Ram Naresh Raya told Republica Online, “The meeting slated for tomorrow will give final touch to protest plan incorporating the suggestions.”

Leaders told the meeting that the new protest should focus on Kathmandu as earlier agitations didn’t impact the government.

Janajati leaders told the meeting that they should force the government to address the demands with capital-centric protest.Madhes-based parties however, opined that the agitation should be launched in all 75 districts at once.

Some 25 political parties including those representing the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) are in the alliance.
