Addressing the press meet, FDF Coordinator Upendra Yadav, who is also the chairman of MPRF, said the current political and constitutional crisis cannot be resolved until the present caretaker government steps down. “If Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai does not step down, the government must be toppled through protests,” he added.
Asked if a government-led by the sitting chief justice would be acceptable to them, Yadav said, “If the chief justice resigns from his post and the government so formed agrees to conduct CA polls by May, we have no objections to the chief justice heading the government.”
He, however, maintained that a single person cannot be the head of both the executive and the judiciary. “This would lead to anarchy,” Yadav argued.
Speaking at the press meet, FDF Spokesperson Parshuram Tamang accused the major three parties of cheating the people in the name of consensus.
“Three major parties have already failed and the president is also on the verge of failure,” he maintained. Madhesi and indigenous leaders said that promulgation of new statute from beyond of the CA would not be acceptable to them under any circumstances.
