KATHMANDU, March 14: Farewell to the last days of winter as the sun has finally moved toward the Northern hemisphere welcoming summer across Nepal.

Significant rise in the intensity of heat in and out of the Valley clearly indicates the advent of pre-monsoon season as experts claim summer has finally arrived.

“Summer is here. Now we are entering the pre-monsoon phase when days will be warmer with moderate rainfall and land dry with very little moisture in the air,” said Barun Poudel, meteorologist at the Metrological Forecasting Division (MFD).

As per the latest weather report updated by MFD, the maximum temperature of Kathmandu has reached 28 degree Celsius.
Thanks to improved weather condition and sun's heat directly prevailing on Earth, sky cleared without a single sight of cloud revealing a scenic view of the mountain range from the Kathmandu Valley.

“Weather condition for the next three months will remain mild. The temperature will rise and there will be thunderstorms in the area touched by wetlands,” said Poudel.

Along the Tarai belt, temperature rise has already hit 30 degree Celsius with Dang, Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj already experiencing temperatures above 29 degree Celsius.

However, another meteorologist Raju Pudasaini said there is a possibility of light rainfall in a few days time.

“The impact of western disturbance that helps bring winter rain in Nepal has not resided yet.
