KANCHANPUR, Oct 9: The family of Bipin Joshi of Bhimdatta Municipality-3 in Kanchanpur district is worried after losing contact with him. Bipin is currently in war-torn Israel. His mother Padma is in agony since she lost contact with him since Saturday.

"It has been two days since we lost contact with him. We do not know how he is doing. Our son should be searched and brought home as soon as possible," she said miserably. Bipin's parents migrated to Bhimdatta Municipality-3 in Kanchanpur from Rim of Baitadi some years ago.

Padma teaches at the local Udayadev Secondary School at Bedkot Municipality-9 while his father teaches at a school in Bajhang. Currently, Padma and her daughter are living in Bhimdatta Municipality-3.

"We had a video call with him on Saturday. At that time, he told us that he was eating and that a notice had been issued to hide in a bunker because an attack might take place," said Bipin's brother Kishor, "After that, there was no contact, we have been trying to establish contact with him but to no avail."

Bipin had gone to Israel under the 'learn and earn' programme around two months ago. His family has urged the government to search, rescue and bring him back home safely. At least 10 Nepali students have been confirmed dead in the attack by the Palestinian rebel group Hamas against Israel. Forty nine students from the Sudurpaschim University in Tikapur had gone to Israel under the 'learn and earn' programme.

Israel has been under attack since Saturday morning. Out of 265 Nepali students studying in Israel, 49 are from the Sudurpaschim University. Out of those 49 students, 17 are trapped in Kibbutz Alumim in the war zone of Negev in Israel. Hamas has been launching strikes in the area.
