With international power brands entering Nepal one after the other, the capital will see yet another coveted brand, Fabindia, make its way in the Nepali market. Their outlet at Jawalakhel is all decked up as it has its soft launch today.

Fabindia already had their products circulating at key departmental stores, including Bluebird, Big Mart, and Everest Mart. [break]With over 25,000-square-feet area, their exclusive store will boast of Fabindia’s variety of ranges from their beautiful wooden furniture to hand-woven linens to personal-care products and bath goods.

“We already have men’s and children’s fabrics, especially kurtas, organic food items, personal care products, linens, and lightings in store for the soft launch. We’ll be bringing in more products in time for the official launch,” says Shreyans Karki, executive director of Evolution Clothing Company Pvt. Ltd.

Now, in its 50th year, Fabindia, which was founded by John Bisell, has been illustrious for its garments made from hand-woven and hand-printed fabrics.

“One of Fabindia’s specialties is that its products are one hundred percent organic as they are all naturally made,” informs Karki. The linens and furnishings use natural dyes on hand-woven fabrics, and their furniture range is pure solid wood.

On the affordability of the products, Karki adds, “The clothing collection is midrange. We have tops starting at the price of Rs 700-800. As for the furniture, they are made of pure wood, and that can be a bit high-end.”

About the furniture range of the brand that has wooed India for half a century now, Lifestyle India writes, “You get great designs here, with great robust quality…..the soothing, calming, and straightforward designs from Fabindia will never go out of style, (it’s) easy to clean and maintain, and will remain versatile as well.”

Fabindia products have derived its designs from diverse crafts and knowledge of some 40,000 artisans from all over the villages of India. Adhering to the beautiful patterns, colors and designs it has maintained, Fabindia has brought the loveliness of traditional crafts into many homes.

Now with the opening of Fabindia in our very own town, a great opportunity is here for all Nepali homemakers as well.

Happy shopping at Fabindia in Kathmandu!
