KATHMANDU, Dec. 19: Extreme cold conditions were experienced throughout the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, today.

The life in the Kathmandu Valley and in the Terai region was much affected due to cold. Fog has started descending in the Kathmandu Valley in the mornings, making life for the college goers and the vegetable traders difficult.

Meteorologist Rajendra Prasad Shrestha said the Valley saw fog cover in the morning today and the rest of the country experienced an increase in cold.

He said the Valley will see fog cover for a week and rainfall is expected after that. In the Terai, the weather will grow colder as the duration of haze cover will grow longer.

Shrestha said although it will be cold in the Valley in the morning due to the fog cover, there will be sunshine after that.

It is said the hilly region including the Kathmandu Valley and the Terai region have experienced foggy conditions due to the rains in the western parts of the country since some days back.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley today was 2.4 degrees Celsius and the maximum 19.21 degrees Celsius.
