KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Former Prime Minister and Coordinator of Naya Shakti Party, Nepal Dr Baburam Bhattarai has urged the government to save the life of Dr Govinda KC, saying that millions of lives would be at jeopardy if KC died.


Addressing a mass meeting organized following a demonstration in the capital, leader Bhattarai urged the government to save the life of Dr KC.

Putting forth a six-point demand concerning reforms in the health sector, Dr KC, a senior surgeion at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH),  has been staging a fast-onto-death for the last 21 days. 


Bhattarai said that it is unfortunate to see Dr KC stage hunger strike time and again for a single cause.


Pointing out the corruption as a major setback to our country, Bhattarai stressed on the need to abolish it for the prosperity of our nation through the formation a powerful Lokpal, an anti-graft body that controls corruption.
