Ex-lawmaker injured in gang attack airlifted to Capital

KHOTANG, July 4: Former lawmaker Arjun Rai, who was attacked by a gang, has been airlifted to Kathmandu from the district headquarters on a helicopter for further treatment on Monday.

KHOTANG, July 4: Former lawmaker Arjun Rai, who was attacked by a gang, has been airlifted to Kathmandu from the district headquarters on a helicopter for further treatment on Monday.



He was attacked by a 12-member gang including Tenjing Sherpa, 22, a resident of Nunthala and Ramesh Achhami,24 , a resident of Katari-8,Udayapur.



Rai, who is a Central Committee member of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), was taken to Capital for CT scan as he had received injuries in his head, nose and other body parts.



Ex-lawmaker Rai was thrashed in Hurlung of the district while he was staying at a hotel on his way to Buipa for transporting electric poles for Mewa Khola Hydropower.



According to police, Rai was attacked by a gang of Sherpa and Achhami who were there consuming alcohol.
