DHARAN, Aug 25: Various ethnic groups operating in eastern part of the country have decided to launch protests against the special security plan to be enforced shortly. The government is all set to implement the security plan in a bid to curb rising insecurity among the people, especially in the Tarai.

The ethnic groups claimed that the government has introduced the security plan to suppress their peaceful agitation. The groups that have long been demanding Kirat and Khambuwan autonomous states in the eastern region announced agitation programs against the plan on Tuesday.

The programs are scheduled for September 4-15. They said that they will organize mass meetings at various places and have asked the government to annul the list which has put them in the category of the armed outfits.
