KHOTANG, July 18: District Health Office (DHO), Khotang has recently provided medical equipment worth Rs 500,000 to various health posts of the district.
As the old medical equipment in many of the health posts were useless and dysfunctional, the distribution by the DHO is believed to bring respite to the locals who couldn't get simple treatment in their own village.

According to the DHO, it has provided 32 dozens of stretchers, 50 dozens of dressing sets, 50 dozens of scissors sets and 43 dozens of stethoscopes, and blood pressure sets along with other medical equipment.
The office has distributed such equipment to all the health posts except in nine wards of the district where there are birthing centers and multi-sector nutrition programs are ongoing.
The equipment were handed over by Chief District Officer Prahlad Pokharel and coordinator of the District Coordination Office, Rajan BC, to the heads of the health posts.
According to Dr Ram Bahadur KC, chief of the DHO, the equipment were distributed to make every health institution have at least the minimum health facilities.
The district has two primary health posts, 71 health posts, two sub health posts, two community unit health posts, and two urban health centers.
