KATHMANDU, Sept 18: People are lining up to cast their votes to elect their representatives in 136 local units of in Province 2.
Reporters from eight districts of the province informed that the voters are queuing up from early Monday to exercise their voting rights. Today's polls will elect as many as 6,627 local representatives for which a total of 37,236 contestants are vying for the posts of mayaors, deputy mayors, chiefs, deputy chiefs and members of the local units and ward committees.

EC officials said that there are 2,664,950 voters registered in Province 2. Of the total seats allocated for local units, eight candidates have already been elected unanimously. More than 60,000 security personnel have been deployed for election security in the province.
