At an interaction organized by the agitating 33 political parties, including the CPN-Maoist, about ´dialogue, roundtable conference and election´, they said as the Constituent Assembly election was the only option to free country from crisis, all parties need to participate in it.[break]
CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya said the demands raised by the 33 parties need to be addressed and national consensus forged before holding the CA election. If it is not followed, the 33-party front would have no option but to boycott the election, he warned.
On the occasion, UCPN-Maoist politburo member Devendra Poudel said November 19 election must be held by solving disputes through talks and discussion. All parties´ participation in the CA election was essential to write all-acceptable constitution, he added.
Nepali Congress leader Laxman Ghimire said the high-level political committee of the four big parties needs to address the demands of the 33 parties and ensure their participation in the election. But the 33-party front too should be ready to hold talks, he added.
CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal said a common point was essential to ensure all parties´ participation in the coming election and the UML would not shy away from holding the roundtable conference.
It would be wise to help present government by participating in the election, he added.
Moreover, Chairman of the Federal Socialist Party, Ashok Rai, blamed that the high-level political committee was still narrow-minded to solve problems and hold election on the slated date.
Former speaker Daman Nath Dhungana said if the election is held without the participation of 33 political parties, it would not restore peace in the country.
Former Chairman of Nepal Bar Association, Shambhu Thapa, said it was unwise to mobilize army in the election.
