The press statement quoted translator Baral saying, ‘International literature has been translated into Nepali, albeit few. However, it won’t be false, if it is said that Nepali literature has not been well translated into English or other languages so far. Therefore, we are trying to translate Nepali literature into English in order to bring Nepali literature to the international level. The Song of the Soil is the result of that effort. '
He added that the beautiful story of Darjeeling's identity struggle, which bears a lot in common sentiments with the armed Maoist conflict in Nepal, and his use of language inspired him to translate Fatsung.
