EmBlood saves life through its app

KATHMANDU, March 15: “I didn’t know it felt so good to save life. I was off to meet my friends when I suddenly got a call requesting me to come to the Teaching Hospital as soon as possible. The patient needed O +ve blood for a surgery and had heard about EmBlood and got my contact details from there. I had installed the app just a week ago,” shares Jay Vaidya, IT entrepreneur.

The patient needed O +ve blood for a surgery and had heard about EmBlood and got my contact details from there. I had installed the app just a week ago,” shares Jay Vaidya, IT entrepreneur.



The blog section of EmBlood is filled with stories of many people like Jay. EmBlood is a life saving app which was first launched in 2014 with an idea to save lives. EmBlood stands for Emergency Blood and now has more than 4,500 installs.



“I wanted to find the most reliable and easiest technology driven solution to the fresh blood crisis. Aware of technology, I researched on blood and my ideas. I had no fund back then but my team at Techroadians Offshore Base helped the project,” said Manoj Bhattarai, the initiator of this live saving app.



 EmBlood is an emergency blood application that helps save lives through its blood donor search technique. The app also consists of extra features including health tips, emergency numbers and first aid.



EmBlood has a very simple interface. In three simple steps you can find a blood donor. User first needs to tap blood search feature then fill form where user needs to enter location, blood group and name then the user will be presented with the list of donors with their details. Donors can be contacted through automated push notifications, SMS or a phone call.



EmBlood not only helps users find donors but it also provides them with an opportunity to save life by registering as donor themselves.



The app is offered by CellApp and can be found on Google Play Store.
