Electrocuted patient rescued through chopper

GORKHA, Nov 20: Laata Gurung, 40, of Arughat Rural Municipality-1, who was critically injured after being electrocuted has been rescued by a helicopter.

GORKHA, Nov 20: Laata Gurung, 40, of Arughat Rural Municipality-1, who was critically injured after being electrocuted has been rescued by a helicopter.


Megh Bahadur Gurung, a relative of Laata, said that he was electrocuted while climbing a tree near his house on Saturday morning. He was brought to the Teaching Hospital after being rescued through a helicopter under the coordination of Rajendra Bajgai, a tourism entrepreneur and a Nepali Congress Maha Samiti member.

According to the locals, the accident took place as the electric wire from Richet Hydropower was hanging low in the village.


Similarly, Nepali Congress Maha Samiti member Bajgai said that he had sent a helicopter to rescue the victim after receiving the news of the accident from the village. He had also assisted in the rescue, treatment and relief operations in North Gorkha before.
