KATHMANDU, April 2: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that there will be a need-based electoral alliance among coalition partners in the upcoming elections.
Talking to media persons on Saturday, Poudel said that the issues of wards and municipalities should not depend on national politics. “Coordination will take place as per need in each local level,” he said.
Stating that the districts, provinces, constituencies and municipalities have been asked to evaluate the situation and send a report to the center, Poudel said that the NC is not in favor of imposing all the decisions of the party’s center at the local level. “Not all decisions will be made by the central committee. The NC does not have such a policy,” he added.
Stating that the current national need is against the attack on change and regression, he stressed on the need to protect it. Senior leader Poudel said that the alliance was formed to protect the country from regression and change and protect the achievements made in the last 70 years. Stating that the current alliance is strong, he said that preliminary discussions are being held on electoral alliance.
