KATHMANDU, May 14: The Ministry of Home Affairs has termed the first round of the local election held at the 34 districts of three provinces on Sunday as largely successful. Issuing a press statement after the election, the ministry informed that the election was held largely peaceful in six thousand six hundred 41 center among which, three election of three polling center of three districts were suspended and some minor incidents.
According to the ministry, the election procedure was suspended in one-one polling centers of Mugu, Kavre and Dolakha. Likewise, the ministry has informed that the government has formed a probe committee to investigate the Kavre incident.
Local elections held in largely 'peaceful' atmosphere
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry, Bal Krishna Panthi said that the security arrangement was strong and successful.
The government had deployed 95 thousand security personals including Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
