SOLUKHUMBU, Nov 19: An election officer deployed at a polling center set up at Phurke Community Forest in Nechasalyan Rural Municipality-4 of Solukhumbu district has been found dead while he was asleep.
Election Officer Biltu Raya, 56, was found dead on Saturday morning, confirmed DSP Sunil Jung Shah, chief of the District Police Office, Solukhumbu. According to the police, Raya reportedly went to sleep at the polling center on Friday night and was found dead by other election staff at 4AM the next morning.

A team of police has been mobilized to the incident site for further investigation. The body of the deceased election officer has been sent to the District Hospital in Phaplu for postmortem, according to Bina Rai, vice-chairperson of Nechasalyan Rural Municipality.
Raya, a local resident of Haripurba Municipality-5 in Sarlahi district, was working in the Raya Ayurveda Health Centre at Necha in the district.
It has been learnt that he was taking medicine for diabetes and cardiovascular-related ailment for a long time.
