"The local elections are taking place after 20 years and I found voters very enthusiastic. This has strengthened the roots of democracy," said Yadav.
Yadav, who has also been demanding constitution amendment to address the concerns of Madhesi and other marginalized community, said that the decision of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal to boycott the local election without constitution amendment has kept people of province 2 away from their rights to elect their local representatives.
"In terms of politics, it's their loss not to participate in the election but their decision has also kept people of province 2 away from their rights to vote," said Yadav.
