Federal parliamentarians will cast their votes on green ballot while provincial members will vote through red ballot. To exercise their voting rights, the Election Commission has urged all members to bring either citizenship or certificate of being a member of the parliament to vote.

Three members, Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Ram Narayan Bidari and Dr. Bimala Paudel Rai won’t be able to vote as the Election Commission had already published its final name list of voters a day before the three were appointed as NA members, Nawaraj Dhakal, spokesperson at the Election Commission said.

Nepali Congress has proposed former lawmaker Kumari Laxmi Rai as presidential nominee against current president, Bihdya Devi Bhandari.

Bhandari has been endorsed by the left alliance.  A total of 880 parliamentarians will vote for the President.
