Election fever grips Nuwakot district

NUWAKOT, March 19: Election fever has surged in Nuwakot following the formation of election government to hold Constituent Assembly elections for second time.



Political parties in the district have started directing their cadres to step up preparation for election while the District Returning Office has intensified village visit programme to update voters´ list and started airing radio programmes as a part of voters´ education.[break]



Nuwakot District Returning Office has completed the task of collecting voters´ name list with photo that began from first week of March in as many as half a dozen VDCs.



The voters´ enrollment update ahs been finalized in Dhyangphedi, talakhu, Kumari, Salme, Barsunchet and Dangsing and Ward no. 1 of Bidur municipality. Said the office sources.



The voters´ list update is being carried out in Rawatbesi, Bageswori, Sikre, Okharpauwa, Kahule, Bungtang and Khadbhanjyang VDCs of the district.

VDC Secretary, teachers, social mobilizer and employees of District Returning Office have been involved in the task of collecting name list being undertaken in phases.



Of the total population of 277,471 in Nuwakot, 135,174 have registered their names in the voters´ list.
