The tournament organized on the occasion of Christmas and Nepal Tourism Year 2011 will feature eight teams including three first division teams, state Tendup Phipon Lepcha Lama.[break]
The participating teams to be divided into two groups in the seven-day tournament to be held on knockout format. Along with the first division outfit Brigade Boys Club, Workers Martyrs Memorial Club (WMMC), Chyasal Football Club and Christian Sports Fellowship are pitted in group A.
Group B consists of two top flight teams--Bauddha Football Club and Saraswoti Youth Club; and NASA College and Church Boys Union of the hosts.
Hosanna Group is the chief sponsor of the tournament which has contributed Rs 82,000 said CBU President Tanka Lal Rai (Ruben).
Former national footballer Khum Gurung is the coordinator of the tournament organizing committee.
Chyasal Youth Club will take on WMMC in the opener on Friday at 13:00.
The winners and the runners up of the tournament will bag a purse of Rs 51,000 and 31,000 along with trophies and certificates. The expected cost of the event is Rs 642,000.
