Arrestees claim they were instructed by Trust members
KATHMANDU, May 21: Police have arrested eight individuals on the charge of misappropriation of donation funds at Pashupatinath Temple.
The suspects, who are employees of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), were reportedly caught on CCTV camera while stealing the donations during a counting session.
According to Rewatiraman Adhikari, spokesperson for PADT, the arrestees include employees of the Trust. “These individuals were caught stealing the donation money on CCTV cameras and are currently being held at Gaushala Police Office for further investigation,” Adhikari said.
According to Adhikari, during their interrogation, the suspects claimed they were acting under the instructions of some Trust members.
